The Eagles defense was stingy holding the Mustangs to only 43 points for the game.  Defense has been the focal point to the Eagles early success.  The Eagles only gave up 5 points in 1st quarter and holding the Mustangs to 15 points for the half.  Despite playing great defense, the Eagles will have to improve in the areas of rebounding and offensive execution.  The Mustangs played hard and are a well coached team that will win some games this season.  The Eagles were able to dictate the pace of the game from their defense allowing them to get some easy transition baskets.

This was a great team win for the Eagles.  The Eagles were able to get contributions from multiple players.  Kobe Bufkin led the way with 19 points 7 rebounds and 7 assist.  Donovan Brown-Boyd was a bright spot with 14 points.  Senior Evan May was solid with 13 points and 6 rebounds.  Juniors Christian Baty and Sam VerSteeg combined for 14 points.  The Eagles will have to have the next man up mentality for the rest of the season with the depth of the team.  The Eagles will face a tough challenge Tuesday at home as they tip-off against the Catholic Central Cougars.
