The Eagles defense was tough holding the Cougars to only 54 points for the game where they scored 82 points in their first game. Defense has been the focal point to the Eagles early success allowing only 20 points in the second half. The Cougars shot 35% from the floor and 23% from behind the arc. The Eagles really had to find a way to combat the length of the Cougars and keep them off the glass. It was tough trying to overcome their size but the Eagles made up for it with tough scrappy defense. Offensively, the Eagles are improving as they are still trying to find a rhythm.
This was another great team win for the Eagles. Kobe Bufkin led the way with 29 points 11 rebounds. Senior Evan May was solid with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Junior Sam VerSteeg hit 2 big three point shots when the Eagles need them in second half. The Eagles had the next man up mentality while missing Junior guard Jared Lary due to a knee injury suffered verse Northpointe Christian. The Eagles will face a tough challenge Friday away as they tip-off against the Holland Christian Maroons.
