Tonight the Eagles were on the road at the Breslin Center for a State Finals Championship match up against the Warren Lincoln Abes. The final two teams left standing for a championship in division 2. The Eagles would come out in good fashion in the 1st quarter against the Abes winning that quarter 14 - 13. In the 2nd quarter, the Eagles would go back in forth with the Abes looking to create some seperation. The Abes would withstand the pressure and knock down a few 3 point shots to take a 25 -21 lead into halftime.
The Eagles would come out inspired in the 3rd quarter looking to find some offensive rhythm. The Eagles would get a couple of early scores by Jaylan Ouwinga to help the cause. However, the Eagles would still be trailing in the quarter with the Abes being up 37 - 33. The Eagles would need a sense of urgency in the 4th quarter on offense and defense. The Eagles would struggle to find offense and just couldn't get enough defensive stop against the Abes. The Eagles would come up short in the championship game losing to the Warren Lincoln Abes 53 - 49. The Eagles had a great year and one of the best teams in the state. The Eagles finished the season 26 - 3.
Senior Jaylan Ouwinga would lead the Eagles with 16 points. Malachi Hooser would finish with 14 points in the game. Senior Nate Johnson chipped in with 9 points. The Eagle's season comes to an end unfortunately, but the team had an remarkable season.
