The Eagles hit the road to Calvin University to participate in the Invite Showcase, featuring some of the top teams in the area. They opened the event with a matchup against the Grand Haven Buccaneers.

The game started rough for the Eagles as they struggled to find rhythm on both offense and defense. The Buccaneers capitalized, taking the first quarter 23–13. Unfortunately, things didn’t improve much in the second quarter, with the Eagles unable to gain momentum on either end of the court. While the Eagles forced a few turnovers with their full-court press, it wasn’t enough to shift the tide. At halftime, the Buccaneers held a commanding 42–29 lead.

In the second half, the Eagles showed resilience, battling back to tie the third quarter 15–15. Despite their efforts, the Buccaneers maintained control and extended their lead to 57–44 by the end of the quarter. The Eagles continued to fight in the fourth but struggled to generate offense, particularly from beyond the arc, shooting below 10% from three-point range.

Despite a much-improved second-half effort, the Eagles ultimately fell short, losing to the Buccaneers 78–61 and taking their first loss of the season.
