Grand Rapids Christian put together another strong performance on the court, earning a 69-58 victory over the Hawks in a game that demonstrated growth. This win brings the Eagles’ record to 8-4 on the season and highlights their continued development as a team.

The Eagles came out with focus and intensity, starting the game strong by putting up 20 points in the opening quarter while holding the Hawks to 13. Offensively, the team looked comfortable and confident, creating opportunities for one another with unselfish play. On the defensive end, the Eagles set the tone early, staying disciplined and making life difficult for the Hawks.

The defensive effort continued in the second quarter, where the Eagles limited the Hawks to just 9 points. The defense led to efficient offense, with the team playing solid basketball and extending their lead to 34-22 at halftime. Both ends of the floor were clicking, and the first half was a great example of how this team can play when they’re locked in.

However, basketball is a game of runs, and the Hawks came out of halftime with energy, making an 8 point push and scoring 21 points in the 3rd quarter. They managed to disrupt the Eagles’ rhythm offensively, holding them to only13 points in the period. Despite the challenge, the Eagles held onto a 47-43 lead heading into the final quarter.

In the 4th quarter, the Hawks continued to fight, but the Eagles stepped up when it mattered most. Their defense came through with key stops, which turned into important offensive opportunities. Grand Rapids Christian executed down the stretch, staying poised and focused to seal the 69-58 victory.

The victory was fueled by standout performances, led by Carl Thompson, who poured in an impressive 25 points. Tyler Davis contributed 12 points, providing a steady presence on both ends of the floor. Connor Johnson added 11 points, and Ajak Gieu chipped in with 6 points to round out a balanced team effort. We’ll aim to build on this momentum and continue growing together as a team.
