The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles closed out their regular season with a hard-fought battle against the Northview Wildcats but came up short, falling 60-48. While the result wasn’t what we wanted, this game serves as another learning opportunity as we turn our attention to the postseason.

The Eagles came out focused, winning a tight first quarter 12-11. The defensive intensity remained high in the second quarter, with both teams struggling to find an offensive rhythm. Northview would take a slight edge into halftime, leading 26-23.

Coming out of the break, the Wildcats found their rhythm offensively, putting up 21 points in the 3rd quarter, while the Eagles battled to stay within reach, scoring 14 points. Entering the final quarter down 47-37, the Eagles fought hard, but Northview was able to maintain their lead down the stretch, closing out the game 60-48.  

Carl Thompson led all scores with 25 points for the Eagles. Connor Johnson would finish with 11 points in the effort. The postseason is a new season, and our focus now shifts to Monday, when we begin our tournament run.
