The Varsity girls traveled to Byron Center for a rematch against our most difficult conference matchup. The Eagles came out firing and from the first possession found impressive defensive stops. Byron Center struggled to score because of the lockdown defense led by Emma Van Goor and Katelyn LaRue. The Eagles converted to offense well with Katelyn LaRue finding knock down baskets and the team being patient for good shots. The Bulldogs were not able to keep LaRue under control and the game went into halftime tied at 20. The third quarter had some back and forth action with BC on top by one. However Van Goor continued to add outstanding pressure and LaRue found some more three pointers. Hannah Sall attacked the rim and went 4-4 from the foul line to keep us in the game. However the Bulldogs found themselves winning by 2 with less than 2 to play and the Eagles had to challenge them at the free throw line. They rose to the challenge and were able to close down the game in their favor. This was an outstanding team performance led by a 22 point game from LaRue. The Eagles are back at home Friday night against FHC.
