Boys Varsity Cross Country Wins the Cougar Falcon Invite

The day started with thick fog and ended with intense sunlight but the Eagles would not be stopped. When the fog cleared, the Eagles stood at the top of the podium at the Cougar Falcon Invitational at Gainey. Simon Triezenberg once again led the charge. He was followed by Keegan Hoekstra, Sean Ryan, James Scholten-Holcomb, Micah Small, Zach Hartemink, and Jacob Voetberg.
Later in the morning, the sun came out on high power to burn off the fog but despite the heat and humidity, the JV and Freshman Eagles continued to battle to the very end. Sam DeYoung ran an impressive race to lead the JV. He was followed by Jonathan Falk, Micah Manion, Isaac Witte, and Parker VanHill. In the Freshman race, Andrew Cho led the charge. He was followed by Dylan VanderPloeg, Titus Plattner, John DeYoung, and Joseph Sung.
The weather made PRs (personal records) hard to come by but James SH and Andrew C ran their fastest 5k time yet.
The Eagles return to action Saturday as they travel to Otsego for the Bulldog Invitational.
