Boys Varsity Cross Country Win The OK White Conference

After splitting the first two Conference Jamborees with Forest Hills Central, the Eagles faced a winner-take-all Conference Finals last night at Riverside Park. In a back-and-forth race, the Eagles rose to the challenge and defeated FHC by 1 point - earning an OK White XC Conference Championship! Simon Triezenberg led the way by finishing 5th. He was followed by Sean Ryan, Ashton Fink, James Scholten-Holcomb, Micah Small, Keegan Hoekstra, and Zach Hartemink. All 7 Varsity runners were under 17 minutes for the first time this season.
Mental toughness, perseverance, and fall temperatures led to 8 PRs (personal records). Ashton, James, Zach, Jacob Voetberg, Jonathan Falk, Micah Manion, Jake Mennega, and Joseph Sung ran their fastest 5k time.
The Eagle can now focus on 10 days of training before they will compete at the Regional Meet at South Christian High School on Saturday, October 26.
