The Boys Varsity Soccer team hosted #4 seeded Northview in an OK White Conference Tournament Semifinal match on Wednesday night at Eagle Stadium. The Eagles found went to work from the kickoff to create chances on goal. The scoring started at the 20-minute mark when Jonny Clarkin (sophomore) played a beautiful cross to freshman Ben Hart who took the ball out of the air and volleyed a shot past the Northview goalkeeper. Five minutes later, junior Hans Pruis added to the tally, rising up to score on a header from a corner kick by junior Nick Cassiday. Cassiday was on the receiving end just 2-minutes later on a pass from junior Ben Kuiper, hitting a long-range blast to make the score 3-0. The Kuiper to Cassiday connection occurred again in the 36th minute to up the Eagles lead. Late in the half, Northview was able to grab a goal back on a corner kick, leaving the score 4-1 at the half. 

The Eagles picked-up the scoring in the 2nd half at the 52nd minute of the match as senior Adrian Boyden slotted a shot away on a pass from Cassiday. Junior Alex Terry broke away from the Northview back line on a long pass from junior Eli Leegwater in the 63rd minute and beat the Northview keeper to put away the Eagle's 6th goal of the match. Two minutes later, the Kuiper to Cassiday connection repeated itself as Kuiper cleared the ball to a streaking Cassiday who beat a Northview defender before slotting the ball into the net to complete his hat-trick on the night. The final goal of the match was scored in the 68th minute of the match when senior Trent Elzinga put away a rebound to make the final score 8-1. 

The Eagles will face #2 seed East Grand Rapids on Monday evening at 7:45 pm for the conference tournament championship.
