The Boys Varsity Soccer team traveled across town to Wyoming Lee on Friday evening for a non-conference match against the Lee Legends. The Eagles showed early signs of controlling the match and opened their scoring just 11 minutes in when sophomore John Cassiday received a through ball and drove the ball at the Legends' goal before slotting the ball across to sophomore Miles Bourland who tucked it away to open his scoring account for the season. With 10-minutes remaining in the first half, junior Jackson Mindling flicked a headball through to sophomore Gedion Nzabonimpa who drove the ball to the endline and slotted it back to Mindling who tucked the ball past the goalkeeper for his first goal of the season. The Eagles went into the half with a 2-0 lead and command of the game. The 2nd half found the Eagles connecting passes through the midfield and building their attack, only to be called offsides numerous times. With 17 minutes left in the match, the Eagles strung together a number of passes before junior Grayson Montpetit played a slicing ball through to Mingling who coolly touched the ball past a defender before netting his 2nd goal of the night. The Eagles ended the night with a convincing 3-0 victory. 

The Varsity Eagles host South Christian H.S. on Wednesday night at 5:30 pm at Gainey Athletic Complex in a match that pits the 2021 Division 2 and Division 3 state champions against each other in a match that alwyas bring the best out of both teams.
