The Boys Varsity soccer team traveled to Forest Hills Central to take on the Rangers in a district semifinal match on Tuesday evening. The weather was bound to play a factor as strong winds and rain persisted throughout the evening.

The Eagles played into the wind in the first half, mounting several strong attacks and generating shots while defending a potent Ranger attack for the first 40-minutes. At the half, the teams were knotted at 0-0 with senior goalkeeper Cooper Hutt making several key stops to keep things level.

The Eagles hoped to come out of halftime with the wind at their backs to find a goal, but the match remained scoreless despite attacks going both ways throughout the second half. With the clock winding down, the Rangers were able to regain possession around the Eagles goal and find the corner of the net to gain a 1-0 lead with just 36-seconds remaining. The Eagles attempted one final push, but were unable to score.

The loss knocks the Eagles out of the state tournament and the team finishes the season with an 11-5-5 record on the year.

A special thanks to this team's seniors (Aidan Knoester, Alexander Scofield, Alex Williams, Cooper Hutt, Ian Velzen-Haner, Jonah Knoester and Jonathan Clarkin) for their contributions to the Eagle soccer program.
