The Boys Varsity Soccer team hosted the Jenison Wildcats on Satuday for a non-conference showdown. The Eagles looked to use the match to build momentum as they enter their final week of the regular season and came out firing. 

The Eagles showed great composure and cohesion as a team, connecting passes and controling the pace of the match. The Eagles struck early with a goal just 13-minutes in when junior John Cassiday drew defenders and played a ball across to senior Jackson Mindling who fired his shot past the Wildcats goalkeeper to take an early lead. The Eagles scored again in the 25th minute when Mindling cut past two Jenison defenders and struck a shot into the far side of the net to double the Eagles' lead 2-0 before the half. 

The Eagles found the net once more in the second half when junior Peter Borst stripped a Jenison defender of the ball and slotted a pass to a streaking Cassiday who tucked it past the goalkeeper for the third goal of the match. The Eagles defense held firm and goalkeeper Christian Dershem recorded his 4th shutout of the season. The Eagles out shot the Wildcats 18-6 en route to the victory. 

 The Eagles head back on the road on Tuesday night for a 6:45 match against Lowell before returning home for the final home match of the regular season against Unity Christian on Thursday evening (7:30 pm kick-off).
