The Varsity Eagles traveled to Byron Center to take on the Bulldogs on a beautiful Tuesday evening.  The match would be one of high intensity, with the hosts showing an ability to be dangerous in attack, but also defend with numbers.  The Eagles grew into the game but would give up a goal when they were unable to clear a ball in their own box.  The half would end 1-0 for the hosts.

The second half got off to a challenging start when the Eagles turned the ball over in their defensive half, which eventually led to a PK that was converted by the Bulldogs.   The Eagles would control significant stretches in the second half, in spite of the threat of quick counter attacks by the hosts.  Will Bush would pull one back for the visitors off a great hustle play to cut the lead in half, 2-1.   However, that scoreline would remain until final whistle in spite of great efforts to equalize.  

The Eagles will return to action on Thursday night when they host Ottawa Hills at Eagle Stadium at 7:30.   Come out to cheer as we will honor our outstanding seniors prior to the start of the match, at around 7:15!
