The Eagles celebrated senior night on a perfect evening for soccer as they welcomed Ottawa Hills to Eagle Stadium.  It did not take long for the hosts to find the back of the net when Emmett Vance slammed one home from close range to open the scoring just a few minutes into the match.   Max Visser would add to the scoreline not long after when he laced a left-footed strike past the keeper off an assist from senior Peter Borst.   Borst would get on the scoresheet, himself, off a cheeky pass from fellow senior John Cassiday to make it 3-0.   The Eagles continued to push forward in waves and the consistent pressure resulted in another senior goal as Cassiday tucked one in at the far post off a nice pass from senior Boris Lalic.  Lalic would continue the trend as he moved from assisting to scoring when he fired home from long range with a little help from the left post.   Micah Rogers was credited with the assist.   The busy first half of scoring would conclude when Will Bush headed home a perfect Visser set piece to make it 6-0 on the night.  

The Eagles would finish off senior night in style early in the second half when seniors Lalic and Borst each netted a brace with their second goals of the evening to end the match at 8-0.   Seth Rozema and Cassidy added assists to their names on the second half goals.  The Eagle defense stood tall and senior goal keeper Will Bufalini earned the clean sheet in goal.  

It was the perfect night to honor seniors Will Bufalini, Max Michael, Boris Lalic, Peter Borst, John Cassiday, Soren White, Abel denDulk, and Issac Williams for all they have given to Eagle Soccer.  This outstanding group's ability on the field is exceeded only by the quality of their character and the leadership they have shown as they live out Proverbs 27:17: As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.   May God bless each of these seniors throughout this season and as they continue to follow God's leading in their lives!
