The Varsity Eagles hosted the Sailors from South Christian on youth night at Eagle Stadium. The home side started strongly and narrowly missed going ahead through quality chances from Liam Jansen and Peter Borst. Another effort saw the ball strike the far post. In spite of the bright start, the Eagles conceded three headers from the opponent's dangerous set pieces to find themselves with a three goal deficit at the break.
In the second half, the Eagles were not able to connect enough passes to create dangerous chances. The opponents would add two more to hand the Eagles a tough 5-0 loss on the night.
The team will look to rebound as they visit East Grand Rapids on Monday at 6:45pm.
