The Varsity Eagles welcomed the Sailors of South Christian to open the 2025 season. It took the Eagles some time to find their footing, but the hosts would settle into the match and would claim the lead midway through the first half when Lydia Ydenberg found the bottom corner with a well placed finish that came from a corner kick. The Eagles would see out the first half well, limiting the scoring chances from the visitors.
The Eagles defended well for the majority of the second half; however, the visitors would capitalize on two late chances to hand the Eagles a disappointing 2-1 loss.
The ladies will look to bounce back when they host Unity Christian on Monday night.
