HAMILTON COMMUNITY SCHOOLS: 3.00
The Eagles left the courts proud and excited after a tough 5-3 victory over their regional rivals, Hamilton. A match that was expected to be tight from the start was, as the Eagles came out strong in doubles and slow in singles. The boys took the first sets convincingly at #1 (Sam Vandersloot and Banks McNinch), #2 (Mark VanHekken and Charlie Baker) and #4 (Sam Hillary and Henry Meyer) doubles along with #1 singles (Jake Mersman) - all of whom ended up winning their matches! The first set was dropped at #3 doubles (Will Deblecourt and Eli Wise) but in classic fashion they picked up their game and won in a third set tiebreak. Jake Mersman at #1 singles was the 5th point and clinched the match for the Eagles. George Kwon at #2 singles put in a fantastic fight, dropping his match in a 3rd set breaker. Nicholas Welch and James Vandenbosch also competed hard and put up good results at #3 and #4 singles respectively.
