On Saturday. GRC Varsity Girls Tennis hosted an 8 team tournament consisting of schools across all divisions in the Grand Rapids area (Grand Haven, West Catholic, Portland, Jenison, Hudsonville, Holland Christian, Catholic Central). We are very proud of each and every girl's performance and effort on Saturday, especially through the very cold weather. 8 out of 9 flights making the finals is SO BIG! Even at 1 dubs, which in my opinion, was the toughest and deepest flight out of the whole tournament, and they played some insanely good tennis too! This resulted in the team taking the Eagle Invitational championship and keeping the Eagle trophy in house!! Always much more fun to host a tournament and give the medals and trophies to our own players/team! Results aside, we are very impressed with the growth our team is showing so far and everyone's willingness to adjust mid match and willingness to step up in clutch moments. We had several matches go into tie-breaks yesterday, and we won every single one of them. That is a testament to our players' grit and being ready when the big moments come!

Props to 2S Alex, 3S Kaitlyn, 4S Avah, 4D Charline/Anneka, and 5D Anwen/Adelyn (was fun to have both 5D teams in the finals. We definitely have some of the most depth in the state as proven yesterday) for being 1st place in their flights. Here are the results by flight:

Our singles players did not lose a single set on the entire day. A dominating showing by them.

The Eagles play their 3rd conference match of the season at FHN tonight at 4:15pm. The Eagles are also currently ranked #5 in the state in Division 3. Go Eagles!!
