The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles faced off against the Byron Center Bulldogs on Saturday morning, but unfortunately, they came away with another loss. A slower start in the first half made it difficult for the Eagles to mount a comeback and secure the win.
In the first two quarters, the offense struggled to find its rhythm, with Piper Slagboom and Hannah Kits each scoring two goals. Esther Kissinger also contributed with one goal. Despite these efforts, the Bulldogs held a strong lead going into halftime.
Grace Kelder showed her skill in the draw circle, leading the Eagles with 4 draw controls, giving her team opportunities to gain possession and push forward. However, the team couldn’t capitalize on these chances early in the game.
The Eagles made a late push in the fourth quarter, scoring three more goals. The first came from Grace Kelder, scoring one, followed by Hannah Kits scoring two, assisted by Piper Slagboom, but it proved to be a little too late to close the gap, as the Bulldogs held strong.
The Eagles will look to bounce back in their next game against Northview on Monday, March 31st, at 6:00 PM.
