Varsity Baseball Game 1 Against Jenison

Christian Eagles Varsity defeated Jenison 9-5 thanks to a strong start.  Christian Eagles Varsity scored on a triple by Jackson Isaacs in the first inning, a triple by Kyle Remington in the second inning, and a single by Ty Uchman in the second inning.

After Jenison scored one run in the top of the sixth, Christian Eagles Varsity answered with one of their own.  Jenison scored when Rathsack grounded out, scoring one run.

Christian Eagles Varsity pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning.  In the second Remington tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs and Uchman singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Christian Eagles Varsity scored three runs in the third inning.  The offensive firepower by Christian Eagles Varsity was led by Cam Seth, Christian Burgess, and Alex Koval, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Josh Winkle earned the win for Christian Eagles Varsity. The lefthander lasted three innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one.  Nathan Hedlund and Remington entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Remington recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Christian Eagles Varsity.

Betts toed the rubber for Jenison. The pitcher allowed seven hits and seven runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one.  #9 and #13 entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.

Christian Eagles Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game.  Uchman, Burgess, and Isaacs each managed multiple hits for Christian Eagles Varsity.  Uchman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Christian Eagles Varsity in hits.
