In a physical OK-White matchup, the GR Christian football team came up short on Friday evening by a score of 37-7. The Rangers played a fast and hard-hitting style of football that the Eagles struggled to have an answer for. Coming off a season in which they reached the Division 2 state championship game, FHC showed the Boys in Black & Blue what it looks like to play at another level. We didn't quit and we didn't back down, but the night belonged to the visiting team.

The Eagle offense sputtered on and off throughout the contest, but was led by senior wide receiver Malachi Hooser's 6 catches who was joined in the passing game by Aaron Gholston, Ben Toly, and Ben Geers who all added 3 receptions each. The lone GRC score came on an impressive 68 yard TD catch and run from Geers who snagged the pass in traffic and then proceeded to employ a devastating stiff arm to a defender en route to out-running everyone to the end zone.

Defensively, the Eagles were led by Hooser, Geers, and senior DeWayne Goree in tackles, while senior newcomer Ethan Ogle also made his presence felt at defensive end in his first game coming off an injury. 

The Block C Boys continue to walk the challenging path of conference play as they travel to take on a tough and consistent 3-0 Byron Center team this coming Friday. Full of toughness and character, they will be ready for the challenge. Go Eagles!
