EAST KENTWOOD HIGH SCHOOL: 1
The Grand Rapids Christian varsity hockey team won their second game in a row, beating the East Kentwood Falcons 9-1. Eagles scored the first two goals in the first period, outshooting EK 20 to 2 but gave up a late goal with 10 seconds to go and ended the period only up 2 to 1. The Eagles scored 3 goals in the second period and 4 in the third to round out the scoring. Scoring for the Eagles were Benj Bultema with his second hat-trick in a row, Ashton Bol with two goals, and Isaiah Clark, Alex McKay, Jordan Koetje and Jake Noordewier each adding a goal. Assists in the game were Benj Bultema with 4, Brendan Hofmann with 3, Ashton Bol and Jake Noordewier with 2, Jordan Koetje, Alex McKay, Sam VanSchepen, Corbin Venckus and Max Goodfellow each had one assist. The Eagles record is now at 3-4-0-1 overall, and 2–1 in the conference. Our next game is tomorrow night at Reeths Puffer. Puck drop is at 6:30.
