The Grand Rapids Christian Co-op hockey team lost to East Grand Rapids Friday night by a final score of 5 to 3.  The Eagles came out with a lackluster first period and a slow first half of the game allowing the Pioneers to take advantage as they scored 5 goals. EGR scored first on a power play goal after GRC failed to clear the puck multiple times.  GRC answered with a PP goal of its own minutes later off a great shot by Jake Noordewier as he picked the top corner walking in from the slot.  Ashton Bol and Brendan Hofmann assisted on the goal.  East scored a late goal in the first to go up 2-1.  Teams exchanged goals as East went up 3-1 before Max Goodfellow responded off a pass from Isaiah Clark.   EGR scored the next two in the second to go up 5-2.  GRC finally got going and played well the last half of the game but could only get one goal back for their efforts.  Clark scored with Noordewier assisting on the play.  The next game is Tuesday vs. FHC at Eagles Ice Center.  The Eagles record is now 6-8-1-1 and 3-2 in the conference.
