BYRON CENTER HIGH SCHOOL: 4
On Saturday the Eagles traveled to Byron Center. They welcomed back the four players from West Catholic who had just won the football state title the day before to the team and to the ice for the first time all season. Byron jumped out to a 4-0 lead until Miles Van Beynen scored on a breakaway to notch the first and only goal for the Eagles. Byron Center’s senior-ladened team proved to be too much early in the season but the team will get another shot at them in playoffs. Again Melinn played very well in net stopping 30 of 34 shots on goal.
The next game is at home vs Rockford on Wednesday at 3:30.
