The Eagles co-op hockey team extended their win streak to five games beating Jenison 3-2 last night. While it wasn’t the team’s best effort, Brayden Melinn stood tall in the nets, making some huge saves in the third period to preserve the 3 to 2 win. The Eagles scored two minutes into the first. With Danny Groszkiewicz getting a back door pass from Landon Smith. Collin Peal assisted on the play. Next, Brody Baysore scored on a breakaway, beating the goalie over his blocker. Brendan Farmer assisted on the goal. The Eagles gave up two goals in the first four minutes of the second and headed into the third period deadlocked at two. Colton Laufer scored two minutes into the third. Off a quick shot from in front of the net. Josh VanSchepen, and Luke Afman assisted on the play. The Eagles were out shot in the game 23 to 12 with Melinn stopping 21 of them. 

This weekend, the Eagles travel to the Trenton Showcase tournament to face warren de la Salle on Friday afternoon and Lake Orion on Saturday evening. 

With the win, it puts the Eagles back into first place in the league with three games to play.
