The Eagles hockey team dropped their record to 1-1 as they fell to the hands of the Reeths Puffer Rockets.  

The first period couldn’t have gone better as the Eagles jumped out to a two goal lead, both goals being scored on the PowerPlay. Dane Fitzgibbon opened the scoring with a blast from the wing reading the Reeths Puffer goalie up top. Andrew Shripka and Sam DeYoung assisted on the play. It was Fitzgibbon’s first career high school goal. Later in the period Cam Laufer scored off a pretty pass from Josh Hooper.

The second period could not have started worse, as the Rockets scored three unanswered goals to take the lead, and the Eagles lost a key player with an injury. The Eagles responded with a natural hat-trick by Brody Baysore. Which would be three consecutive goals scored by one player. Two of Baysore goals came by way of assist from Hooper with Laufer getting a second assist. Baysore also scored on a penalty shot with a pretty back tow drag. The third period belonged to the Rockets as they scored four unanswered goals. Tyson VanSprange played well and battled hard in net.
