The JV Eagles pulled out an exciting victory 28-26 versus Wayland Union. The team was led by Bradley Nuiver with 3 touchdowns. Bradley connected with Braylon Taylor early in the game with a 68yd bomb for a touchdown and later in the game for a 40yd touchdown. While down in the fourth quarter 20-26 on 4th and 15 Nuiver escaped pressure and found Brieon Walton in the back of the endzone for the tying touchdown. The eagles who had missed 3 extra points earlier in the game would go for 2pts, and converted successfully. With a minute left in the game Wayland took a deep shot and hit a covered receiver who then broke a few tackles and looked as if he would score to dash the eagle hopes for victory. Freshman Charles Molenbeek had other plans as he chased the receiver down at the 20 yd line and stripped the ball away to give the ball to the eagles with 30 seconds left in the game. With 3 timeouts Wayland still had a chance to get the ball back but on a critical 4th and 1 Elden Grover sealed the victory with a first down. The Eagle defense was led by Yohannes Rock with 9 tackles, Justin Davis with 8 tackles and Ky Bender with 7 tackles The Eagles take on Spring Lake at home next Thursday,Let's Roll Eagles!!!
