The JV Eagles hosted their rivals East Grand Rapids in a well-fought match. The first
half consisted of both teams battling back and forth for possession. The Eagles had a
larger amount of chances in the half, but the best chance of the half came from a
through ball from East, which resulted in a shot skimming off the outside of the post.
The half ended in a stalemate.
The second half tilted in the favor of the Eagles, who remained in the attacking half for a
majority. Despite several chances, they were unable to find the back of the net. With 15
minutes remaining, a East defender slide tackled outside of their own box, but missed
the ball and made contact with Max Rodwell, which earned the EGR player a red card.
With a man up, the Eagles increased the pressure and gave their best effort to win the
game. However, both defenses held strong resulting in a 0-0 result.
The Eagles look forward to Monday, September 9 where they travel to play Unity
Christian High School.
