The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles traveled away to Jenison High School on a hot Thursday afternoon. The contest was a fast paced game with some breakaway chances from both sides in the first half. With neither team able to make the most of their chances, the two teams entered halftime at a 0-0 draw. Coming out of the half, Jenison put the pressure on the Eagles until the Eagles were able to get on the ball and possess into Jenison's side of the pitch. In the second half, Noah Peterson made a darting run towards the endline in the box and was tripped up by a Jenison defender. The referee awarded a penalty kick which was calmly and confidently placed in the bottom right corner by Ben Williams. The Eagles kept the pressure on creating a few more opportunities in the second half but failed to convert and Jenison brought heavy pressure in the final few minutes of the game. The Eagles held strong and saw out the contest, leading to a 1-0 victory.

The Eagles move to 7-0-2 on the season and have had their 9th shutout of the season in a combined effort of goalies Alex Nelson and Soren Mayer, as well as their defensive unit. The Eagles return to action next Monday away at Ottawa Hills HS.
