The Grand Rapids Christian Eagles traveled to Union High School last night to take on the Red Hawks. The game opened up fast with a quick goal from Andrew Brinks. Ben Williams made it 2-0 with a shot from distance going over the keeper's head. Becket Nieuwenhuis made it 3-0 after getting in behind and slotting it past the goalie. Not long after, Becket Nieuwenhuis earned himself a penalty kick and with the outside of his right foot, buried it in the bottom right corner. The Eagles headed into the half up 4-0.
The Red Hawks came out flying in the second half and put the Eagles on the backfoot, scoring off a cross and a good finish. The Eagles composed themselves and with a goal from Benjamin Byma, made it 5-1, Andrew Brinks and Gerrit Boer added to the tally ending the game at 7-1. The Eagles move to 13-0-3 and host Catholic Central next Monday in their final game of the season.
