BYRON CENTER HIGH SCHOOL: 7
The Eagles JV lacrosse team had mixed results as it played Byron Center and Mattawan on Saturday. The day began with the Eagles falling 7 - 4 to the Byron Center Bulldogs. Adrian Selfe led the way with a hat trick of goals in the first half. Kaden Rysdam added a goal in the second half to round out the team's scoring.
In the second game, the Eagles tied Mattawan 3 - 3 during a hard fought defensive game. The Eagles' defense played solid throughout and goalie Isaac Zull made a number of key saves when called upon. Kayden Rysdam, Sam VanderMeyden, and Leland Lautenbach all tallied one goal each as the team scored late in the second half to tie the game.
Overall, the team played well together and showed continued improvement in a number of areas. They look forward to two good games coming up this week.
