A walk-off error handed the Eagles a 7-6 loss to the Byron Center Bulldogs on Thursday at Byron Center Sports Complex. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when an error allowed the winning run to score.

Grand Rapids Christian took an early lead in the first inning, scoring on an error. They later tied the game in the top of the seventh, capitalizing on multiple errors and a wild pitch.

Ian Combs took the loss, pitching 2.2 innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits while striking out three and walking six.

Manuel Arciniega-Gomez and Nolan Koetje each recorded a hit for the Eagles, while Josh Garcia drove in a run. Isaiah Owens was aggressive on the basepaths, stealing three of the team’s four total bases.

The Eagles will face East Grand Rapids Pioneers in their next game on Monday.
