Boys Freshman Basketball beats South Christian 50-40

SOUTH CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL: 40
GR Christian played host to South Christian Thursday night. It was a big game and the Eagles were ready for the challenge. They came out in the 1st half and focused on the defense side of the ball. That kept them in the game as they struggled to knock down some shots. The Eagles were trailing 23-18 at halftime. In the 2nd half the Eagles wanted to get more ball movement and attack inside. That paid off in the 3rd quarter as the Eagles outscored South Christian 17-7, to take a 35-30 lead heading in the 4th. The Eagles kept up the intensity in the 4th quarter and made 7 of 10 free throws in the final 2 minutes to put the game away and win by a score of 50-40. It was a great team effort, the boys played together as a team and it was a joy to watch. The Eagles will play Tuesday night at 4:00pm against Godwin in the Quest Center to finish out the season.
