GREENVILLE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL: 12
The Eagles fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-2 loss to Greenville. Haily McBride started off on the mound allowing three hits and striking out one. Lauren Holkeboer came in to throw the following four innings. She gave up six hits and had three strikeouts. At the plate the Eagles totaled three hits off the bats of McBride, Lily Gaastra, and Ella Koetje. In the bottom of the first Gaastra found her way on base off of a single. Greta Vance up next put down a sacrifice bunt that ended up moving Gaastra all the way to third on an open base. Gaastra then scored the first run for the Eagles off a bad throw to try to get her out at third. The Eagles scored their other run in the bottom of the fourth. McBride hit a single to center field and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Ella Koetje hit a line drive to right field to score McBride.
The Eagles next double header is Thursday, May 20 at Grand Rapids Cathic Central.
