The Eagles worked hard at the plate to have a comeback win, despite trailing 6-0 in the first inning. They flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring 21 runs on 12 hits to take the lead, 21-6.
Jaslene McWilliams started game two on the mound. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and six runs (three earned) over one inning, walking five. Rae Cummings came in during the second inning to earn the win. Cummings allowed one hit, one walk, and struck out one.
The Eagles accumulated 12 hits in the game. VandeGriend, Karina Mora, McWilliams, and Rae Cummings each collected two hits. Maren Leech, Keira Porte, Addie Rodenhouse, and Alexis Willis each also had one hit. Overall, the team showed great patience at the plate, drawing seven walks, with Reese Mersman contributing two. The Eagles also used their speed on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases in the game, with Cummings stealing two of them.
The Eagles next game is a conference opener at home vs Forest Hills Central on April 16, starting at 4:15 PM.
