The weather was absolutely freezing for the JV girls soccer game between Grand Rapids Christian and East Grand Rapids on Monday night. The entire Eagles’ defense including Makayla Wynbeek and Maddy Baylor did well against the speed and physicality of the Pioneers and caught the opponent offsides on numerous occasions. Going into half time, the visiting Pioneers were only leading by two goals. 

In the second half, the Eagles were able to get on the scoreboard with a nice shot by Vivi Duncan into the lower corner of the net. Despite the chilling temperature and being down a goal, the Eagles created several great chances with runs by Brooklyn Clem, Aluong Reng and Delaney Denton. Game ended in a 3-1 score with the visitors taking the win. 

The team is looking forward to one more game against Northpointe Christian this week before Spring Break.
