We traveled to Canepa Tennis Center to take on East Grand Rapids away. It was our toughest match of the season, and everyone was in a battle. There were some epic points, spectacular comebacks, back and forth game scoring, and even a 10-point super tie breaker. Overall, it was a competitive atmosphere and both teams fought until the end. It came down to our last couple of matches to seal the deal. Match score was 6-5, and overall score was 11-7. 

 

Number 11 doubles Celia/Madeleine went on with the first group and got us an early lead winning 8-4. Number 1 doubles Ava/Maria had the match of the day. They played in our season's first 10-point super tie breaker and pulled off the win 9-8 (10-6). Number 3 doubles Liza/Sophia continue on their hot streak winning 8-2. Number 5 doubles Addison/Madeline had an awesome win 8-3, and also number 6 doubles Josie/Kate 8-3. The match was tied until our number 10 doubles Natalie/Zion won 8-2 giving us the team win.  

 

I'm especially proud of number 2 doubles Ainsley/Julia. They were down 2-5, persevered came back and lost in a close one 6-8. Number 4 doubles Emmarie/Janine had a good match losing 4-8. Our battle of the day belonged to number 7 doubles Aubrey/Faith. They had a long back and forth match, losing 6-8. 

 

This was a test from start to finish, and it's not easy going away against one of the best teams. We needed a match like this to make us better as a team. We'll only grow stronger from these types of experiences. The girls showed a lot of determination and a will to win in a tough environment. They earned this one, Go Eagles!
