JV Lacrosse falls to the Huskies

The JV Eagles girls lacrosse team just barely fell behind the Portage Northern Huskies, in a heartbreaking 6 to 7 loss.
While this was the first time the girls were together again after spring break, they came out as a unit, working hard to make good passes and fight for every ground ball. Sophia DeHoop secured five ground balls, helping the Eagles possess throughout the game. Mikayla Wolters and Rylee Anderson also helped possess, each obtaining two ground balls, and Hannah Mockabee got the last groundball of the game, leading to a very exciting last minute!
DeHoop and Anderson also made an impact on the circle, with DeHoop fighting to win three draw controls, and Anderson fighting to win two. Additionally, Lucy DeBoer boxed the Huskies out to obtain three, and Eva Lindstrom and Hannah Mockabee each got one.
The Eagles and Huskies fought back and forth for the entirety of the game. The Eagles made some phenomenal passes and took many great shots, along with maintaining a standout defense. Lulu Ghent consistently pushed her defenders to the outside, helping the Eagles immensely. Additionally, Esther King saved 7 shots, bringing her save percentage to 50%! King helped the Eagles stay in the game, and was an asset on the field.
The Eagles have another game on Wednesday against Mona Shores at the stadium, and we are all very excited to take the field again!
