The JV Eagles girls lacrosse flies past Grand Haven, adding another win to their record.

After a successful game on Saturday, the Eagles were ready to come out onto the field with energy and enthusiasm to add another win to their record - and they did just that.

Once again, the Eagles proved to be gritty against Grand Haven, working to win every ball possession, whether that be a draw, a ground ball, or causing turnovers. All of this hard work, along with great passing, wonderful shot placement, and an amazing goalie, led the Eagles to win 11-3.

The Eagles were incredibly successful on the draw, winning the majority of them throughout. Rylee Anderson helped the Eagles achieve six draw controls, Lucy DeBoer obtained three, Sophia DeHoop fought for two birthday draw controls, and Neve Winstanley and Eva Lindstrom both obtained one. By possessing the ball right off of the draw, the Eagles were able to move into the attacking zone and get the ball moving - preparing for the perfect shooting opportunities. The girls passed the ball around well, constantly looking for the open girl and taking good shots when they had the chance. This resulted in many different Eagles scoring. Rylee Anderson made three goals, Brooklyn Vandyke scored two, along with making an assist, and Hannah Mockabee, Jordyn VanderZwaag, Liz Nienhuis, Lucy DeBoer, Lulu Ghent, and Mikayla Wolters each scored one as well.

The Eagles found success not only on the attacking end, but all throughout the field, showcased by the many ground balls the girls obtained. Eva Lindstrom fought for three ground balls, and Neve Winstanley and Myah Anderson worked hard to get two. Additionally, Georgia Mersman and Haley Zuidema, each picked up one ground ball. Many girls also made some incredible checks, leading to some great caused turnovers. Goalie Esther King also was successful, resulting in a 50% save percentage at the end of the game!

The Eagles are excited to work hard at practice this week and play Grand Haven again on Monday, this time, at the Eagle’s Stadium.
