The JV volleyball team won the silver division of the East Kentwood Invitational in their season opener on Saturday. In pool play, GR Christian defeated Hudsonville 2-0 (25-17, 26-24) before losing a close match to Forest Hills Central 1-2 (21-25, 25-22, 14-16). At the conclusion of pool play the Eagles were placed in the silver bracket where they beat Zeeland East in the semi finals 2-0 (25-16, 25-15) before winning the silver championship defeating Portage Central in a close match 2-1 (25-19, 23-25, 15-13). 

Stat leaders for the invitational were: Gabrielle Richardson with 38 digs, Alyssa Devries with 69 assists, Ainsley Weeber with 32 kills and 13 aces, and Kate Breems with 6 blocks. Stat leaders by match are listed below:
