In a thrilling showdown, the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles Boys Bowling Team stormed back from a 10-0 deficit to edge out the Forest Hills Eastern Hawks 16-14 in a nail-biting contest.
The Eagles found themselves in an early hole after dropping both Baker Games, trailing by a daunting 10-0. However, the team refused to give up and came out swinging in the first regular game, led by Braeden Busscher, who posted an outstanding 223. With two additional points in the first game and taking the total pin count, the Eagles managed to cut the deficit to 12-7.
The second regular game proved to be just as tense. Despite the pressure, the team remained steady, with all bowlers finishing within 15 pins of each other. EJ Datema played a crucial role with a solid 160, and the Eagles managed to take three more individual points. A clutch team effort in the game total saw Grand Rapids Christian squeak out the win by the slimmest of margins, pulling off the overall comeback 16-14.
It was a gritty, hard-fought victory for the Eagles, who showed incredible resilience in overcoming the early setback.
