Boys Varsity Cross Country vs. State Finals

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished 8th in the MHSAA state finals Saturday. Very windy conditions prevailed, slowing all runners down some. Leading the way for the Eagles, and earning all state, was sophomore Simon Triezenberg in 14th place. Juniors Dylan Clark, Peter Kuperus, and Joe Waalkes were next in 57th, 68th, and 79th. Sophomore Keegan Hoekstra was 94th, senior Reuben Wiering was 97th, and sophomore Calvin Brinks was 188th. The Eagles are very grateful for all the support this past season and look forward to getting back to work.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles took first place in the regional meet Saturday at Allendale, and now advance to the MHSAA state finals this Saturday at MIS. Sophomore Simon Triezenberg went wire to wire taking home the individual title. Next came three juniors with Dylan Clark in 5th, Peter Kuperus in 12th and Joe Waalkes in 15th. All 4 made the all-regional team. They were followed by sophomre Keegan Hoekstra in 21st, senior Reuben Wiering in 23rd, and junior Jonathan Koetje in 32nd.  In the Post Regional Open Meet ( PROM ), several Eagles were able to PR in their race. They are Collin Afman, Armand Arakaza, Calvin Brinks, Zach Hartemink, and Isaiah Lindstrom.

The Eagles took 2nd in the final OK White jamboree of the season. The five scoring Eagles were Simon Triezenberg in 3rd, Peter Kuperus in 7th, Keegan Hoekstra in 12th with a PR, Dylan Clark in 13th, and Joe Waalkes in 15th. Other Eagles to PR were, Nathan Baker, Calvin Brinks, Sam DeYoung, Jonathan Koetje, Levi VanderSloot, Parker VanHill, Jacob Voetberg, and Luke Witte.  The Eagles run in the MHSAA regional next Saturday at Allendale High School. Race is at 12:15

The Eagles ran to a 7th place finish at the County Meet Saturday at Gainey. Leading the way for the Eagles was junior Jonathan Koetje in 24th place. Following him were Freshman Sean Ryan in 31st, Sophmores Calvin Brinks and Zach Hartemink in 41st and 42nd, and Junior Nathan Baker in 43rd.  The course was very wet in places due to the amount of rain this past week. As a result, the Eagles had no PR times, but look forward to our OK White final on Wednesday at Riverside Park

Michigan's largest high school cross country event is the Portage Invitational, with over 6500 runners competing. Division 2 had all of the top ranked teams in attendance, and the Eagles finished in 4th place. Simon Triezenberg was the top Eagle in 6th place. Peter Kuperus was 26th, Dylan Clark 33rd, Keegan Hoekstra 38th, and Joe Waalkes 39th to complete the Eagle scorers. All five PR'ed on the cool and breezy afternoon.  The Eagle JV team finished 5th, with PR's being set by Armand Arakaza, Nathan Baker, Zach Hartemink, Isaiah Lindstrom, Josh Statema, Levi Vandersloot, Parker VanHill, and Jacob Voetberg.

The Eagles took third place, just 1 point out of second in OK White jamboree #3. The hilly Lowell course yielded no Eagle PR's. Top scoreres for the Eagles were Simon Triezenberg in 2nd, Joe Waalkes in 10th, Dylan Clark in 11th, Reuben Wiering in 13th, and Keegan Hoeksrta in 18th. The Eagles head to Portage Saturday for the states largest invitational.

Eagles Lose: -
The beautiful weather contributed to the Eagles continuing to set lots of personal records. The Eagles evenly split two teams and ran the varsity race. The Eagles came in 9th and 12th in the 30 team field. Simon Triezenberg was the top Eagle in 10th place, Dylan Clark was 35th, Joe Waalkes 37th, Keegan Hoekstra 38th, Reuben Wiering 41st, Peter Kuperus 48th, and Sean Ryan 92nd to round out the top 7. Dylan, Peter, and Sean all ran PR's. Other PR's on the day were Nathan Baker, Calvin Brinks, Sam DeYoung, and Zach Hartemink.  The Eagles return to league action Wednesday at Lowell.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished third in the CFE meet at Gainey Saturday. Simon Triezenberg captured the individual crown in a PR time of 16:01. Following him were Joe Waalkes in 9th and Keegan Hoekstra in 11th, both also setting personal records. The final two Eagle scores were Dylan Clark in 25th and Jonathan Koetje in 35th, who also ran a PR time.  Other PR's on the day were set by Collin Afman, Gerrit Boer, Sam Deyoung, Sean Ryan, Josh Statema,  and Parker VanHill.  The Eagles travel to Otsego Saturday where most of the top ranked D2 teams will be running.

Although the Eagles closed the gap considerably, the final score still showed the Eagles in third place, just 7 points out of first. The Eagles had several PR's on the day including, Collin Afman, Calvin Brinks, Josh Statema, Jacob Voetberg, and Joe Waalkes. Joe was also in the scoring top 5 for the Eagles finishing 8th overall. Simon Triezenberg was the top Eagle in 2nd place, Reuben Wiering 9th, Dylan Clark 15th, and Keegan Hoekstra 18th.  The Eagles host the ares largest meet Saturday at Gainey. See you there!!

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles placed 4 runners in the top 9 and easily won the Ottawa Hills meet at Riverside Park Friday afternoon. Simon Triezenberg went wire to wire for the win with a PR time of 16:04. Reuben Wiering was 6th, Keegan Hoekstra 8th, Joe Waalkes 9th, and Peter Kuperus 16th to complete the Eagles 40 point score. Holland Christian was second wih 112 points. Although 2nd to Caledonia in the JV race, Zach Hartemink took top honors, pulling away to a 12 second win in a PR time of18:34. Besides Zach, other Eagles running PR's were Collin Afman, Nathan Baker, Calvin Brinks, and Josh Statema,

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles captured the Christian Schools Invitational Saturday scoring just 32 points, 25 ahead of 2nd place Illiana Chr of Indiana. Reuben Wiering led the way for the Eagles with his 2nd place finish and PR time of 16:31. Teamates Joe Waalkes and Keegan Hoekstra were 5th and 6th, followed by Dylan Clark in 12th and Freshman Sean Ryan in 14th.  The Eagles also easily won the JV meet with 25 points, well ahead of Covenant Chr in 2nd with 69 points. Peter Kuperus took first place with Gerrit Boer and Calvin Brinks also in the top 5 in 4th and 5th.

Eagles Lose: -
The Eagles finished third in the first of 4 OK White jamborees Wednesday night at Gainey. The Eagles were led by Sophomore Simon Triezenberg's 2nd place finish. Simon was followed by Joe Waalkes in 8th, Keegan Hoekstra in 17th, Reuben Wiering in 22nd, and Dylan Clark in 23rd. The Eagles hope to rebound in their next meet Saturday at South Christian. Boys varsity runs at 10:00 and JV's run at 11:00.
Boys Varsity Cross Country vs. Benzie Central Invite

Eagles Lose: -
The boys began the 2022 season with an impressive first place showing at the Benzie Invitational. The Eagles scored 36 points with second place Allendale scoring 101 and third place Frankenmuth 129. Leading the way for the Eagles and overall winner, was sophomore Simon Triezenberg. He was followed by Reuben Wiering in 5th, Joe Waalkes in 6th, Peter Kuperus in 10th, and Keegan Hoekstra in 14th.  The Eagles also took the JV crown beating second place Spring Lake by 10 points. The JV's were led by Zach Hartemink in 2nd, Calvin Brinks in 4th, and Gerrit Boer in 5th.
