Congrats to sophomore Lily O'Grady who represented GR Christian over the weekend at the girls varsity state tournament. In cool, wet tournament conditions at GVSU's The Meadows Golf Course, Lily shot a 77 on day one and 72 (even par) on day two of the tournament, which tied her for 2nd place overall in the state in Division 3! The second round on Saturday featured Lily birdie-ing 4 of her first 5 holes and making a solid run at the state title. Great job, Lily!

The girls varsity golf team finished off their 2023 fall season of golf with the regional tournament on Thursday at Winding Creek GC in Holland Michigan, shooting a 393 team score and placing 6th. The team was led by sophomore Lily O'Grady who fired a 1 over par 73 to win first place as an individual! The individual tournament championship came down to the last putt as Lily stared down an 18 foot putt that she drained into the middle of the cup to win by one stroke! This was the second year in a row as the regional champ for Lily who now advances to the state tournament next week Friday and Saturday at The Meadows Golf Course at GVSU.

The girls varsity golf team took 6th place at our OK White post-conference tournament on Monday shooting a 390 team score. Lily O'Grady finished 2nd overall in the tournament shooting a 2 over par 72.
Congratulations also to Lily O'Grady who earned all-conference honors this season in the OK White!
The team plays next on Thursday at our regional tournament in Holland, MI.

The girls varsity golf team took 2nd in the tri match vs. Unity Chr. and Holland Chr. on Tues night at Winding Creek shooting a team score of 197. Lily O'Grady shot the low round for the team with a 40.

The girls varsity golf team took 4th place at our OK White jamboree at Quail Ridge Golf Course on Monday night shooting a solid 195 team score on a tough course. LIly O'Grady shot the low round for the team with a 39, Jane Snyder shot a 48 and Molly Hassenrik and Anneka VerMeulen each shot 54 to round out the team scoring. The team plays next on Wednesday at our last OK White jamboree of the season at Boulder Creek Golf Course.

The Eagles girls varsity golf team played at a beautiful but challenging golf course along the Michigan lakeshore on Friday at the Ludington Invitational. The Eagles finished well as a team taking 4th place out of 14 teams and shooting a season best 374 team score. The Eagles were led by sophomore Lily O'Grady who shot a fantastic tournament best score of 69, three under par! Sophomore Jane Snyder fired a 96, freshman Anneka VerMeulen a 104 and junior Molly Hassenrik a 105 to round out the team scoring. The team plays next at their home OK White jamboree on Monday at Quail Ridge at 3:30.

The girls varsity golf team took 5th place at our recent OK White jamboree at Arrowhead Golf Course in Lowell shooting a 201. The low round for the event was fired by Lily O'Grady who shot a 1 over par 37. The Eagles head next to Ludington on Friday for an all-day tournament on the Michigan lakeshore.

The varsity girls golf team took a good step forward on Tuesday placing 3rd at an OK White jamboree at Kent CC. The team fired a solid 180 team score which was led by sophomore Lily O'Grady who shot a 2 under par 34. Sophomore Jane Snyder fired a solid 44, junior Kiera Bishop a 50 and junior Molly Hassenrik and freshman Anneka VerMeulen each shot 52 to round out the team scoring. The match also featured the first time two GRCHS girls golfers each had an eagle (2 under par on a hole) in the same match! Kiera Bishop drove a par 4, 215 yard hole to 2.5 feet for a one putt eagle, and Anneka VerMeulen fired a 255 yard drive, hit the green on her approach and one putted for eagle on a par 5! Great job to the whole team!!

The Eagles girls varsity golf team took 5th place at the OK White jamboree on Wednesday shooting a team score of 207. The team was led by sophomore Lily O'Grady who took 2nd place as an individual and shot a 3 over par 39 at Egypt Valley Country Club.

On Friday our girls varsity golf team split into two teams and travelled to the Laingsburg tournament, east of Lansing. One of our teams took first overall and one of our teams took third overall! Our team also went home with a bunch of individual medals as Lily O'Grady took first place overall as an individual with a 4 under par 66, Jane Snyder took second overall with an 89, the alternate shot team of Gracie Herbert and Lexi Raterink were second, and the alternate shot team of Lydia Ydenburg and Makena Nyhuis were third in their format and the scramble team of Izzy Murray and Jordan Jones were second in their format! Fantastic team play from all the ladies!
Our team plays next on Monday vs Holland Chr and Unity Chr @ Holland Chr.

The girls varsity golf team defeated EGR and lost to South Chr. on Thursday night at Railside golf course. South shot 187, our team 202 and EGR 209. Sophomore Lily O'Grady was the low round of the match shooting a 1 under 36 to lead the team.

The Eagles lost a dual varsity golf match to Byron Center on Tuesday at Cascade CC on their Par 3 course 158-134. Lily O'Grady shot the low round for the team with a 30 and placed second for the match. Junior Kiera Bishop fired a 39 for the second lowest score for the team.
The next match for the Eagles is next Tuesday at Watermark as we open OK White jamboree play.

The Varsity Girls Golf Team had a good start to the season on Friday at the Sydney Carfine Memorial Tournament at The Meadows Golf Course, which is located on GVSU's campus. The young team shot a solid 397, which was enough to place 9th out of the 18 strong teams that were at the tournament. The team was led by sophomore Lily O'Grady who placed 4th as an individual, shooting an even par 72 which included an eagle (2 under par) on hole #1! Congrats to the girls' golf team on a good, positive start to the season! The Eagles play next at Cascade Country Club on Tuesday vs Byron Center.
