Eagles Lose: 1 - 3
Last night the Eagles fell to number six ranked, South Christian High School in the district finals. It was a back and fourth battle that led to scores of 25-20, 24-26, 23-25 and 18-25. Led by the seniors: Gabrielle Richardson, Rowan Cebulski, Makenzie Ritsema and Kidist Nelson the team played with heart and grit. We thank these Seniors for their dedication to the volleyball program and their love for their team.The Eagles end another incredible season playing hard until the very end.

Eagles Win: 3 - 0
The Eagles went up against Aviation Academy in the district semi-final match. They took care of business and won the match 3-0. The team was aggressive at the net and had a team hitting percentage of .447. Rowan Cebulski and Makenzie Ritsema led the team in kills followed by Kidist Nelson with big moments at the net. Hanna Bredeweg led the team on defense with two blocks and 13 digs. Grace Spoelma led the team is assists with 29. The Eagles move on to the district final match tomorrow against the Sailors of South Christian. The match will be held at South Christian High School at 6:00pm.

Eagles Lose: 1 - 3
The Eagles played Byron Center High School for the finals in the Conference Tournament falling 1-3. After winning the previous match against Byron Center the Eagles will share the 3rd place finish with th Bull Dogs to end the Conference. After two hard losses in set one and two the Eagles fought back winning the third set 25-10. In that set Gabrielle Richardson had five aces followed by Rachel Larsen with three. The Eagles had 37 kills for the night led by Rowan Cebulski with 13. Madison Peal led the charge on defense with 17 digs followed by Makenzie Ritsema with 1.5 blocks. Eagle volleyball ended their regular season and will move on to post season with their first district game Wednesday November 2 at 6:00pm at South Christian High School.

Eagles Lose: 0 - 3
The Eagles played the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern in the semi final match in the Conference Tournament. The Eagles played three hard games with scores of 18-25, 20-25 and 22-25 falling 0-3. Each game was played with grit and heart, forcing the Huskies to earn every point and battle through many long rallies. The Eagles were led by Rowan Cebulski at the net with 12 kills followed by Makenzie Ritsema with 5 kills and a hitting percentage of .333. Hanna Bredeweg was a defensive force with 29 digs and 1.5 blocks, she also led the back row in serve receive with a passing average of 2.8. The Eagles move forward with the Conference Tournament and will play Byron Center at home at 6:00pm on Thursday 10/27.

The Eagles made their way to the East vs. West tournament at Lowell High School this weekend. The team entered another tournament with tough competition in every pool. The Eagles made it out of pool play in second place after a tight loss to number one ranked Marian. The Eagles beat Bloomfield Hills and portage Northern to secure a spot in the Gold bracket. In the first round of bracket play the team faced Forest Hills Central for the second time this season. The team had a lot of grit and played aggressive at net with multiple kills by Rowan Cebulski and Makenzie Ritsema. After two solid sets between the Eagles and the Rangers the Eagles lost 0-2. The team plays their next match Tuesday at Forest Hills Northern for the second round of the Conference Tournament hoping to score a spot in the top two of the Conference.

The Eagles started the Conference Tournament strong sweeping the Wildcats of Northview 3-0. Makenzie Ritsema and Savannah Bol led at the net in both blocks and hitting percentage. Both had 2.5 blocks for the match and a hitting percentage of .500. Rowan Cebulski led in kills with 13. Gabrielle Richardson and Hanna Bredeweg led in digs. Grace Spoelma led in assists with 31! The Eagles move up to play the 2nd ranked team in conference play Tuesday October 25 at 6:00pm.

Eagles Lose: 2 - 2
The Eagles went to the Beast of the East Tournament this weekend. They battled through a tough pool play, beating Mattawan and Plymouth Christian securing a spot in the gold bracket after close loss to number five ranked�Clarkston in three close sets. The Eagles moved on to bracket play and went up against number�7 ranked Dakota�High School. After a hard fought battle the Eagles fell to Dakota 25-12,19-25,13-15. GRC volleyball plays their�next match Tuesday 10/18 at home against the Wildcats of Northview High School.�

The Eagles took home the win tonight during their Senior night against Byron Center High School 3-0. The Eagles played consistent aggressive volleyball that started on the serves line with 9 aces, leading the charge was Senior Gabrielle Richardson. The eagles stayed aggressive on serve receive with a team passing average of 2.2. The Eagles were led in kills by Senior Rowan Cebulski and Senior Kidist Nelson. Blocking was a big factor for the Eagles during this match, they were led by Senior Makenzie Ritsema and Savannah Bol. The Eagles play their next match at 8:30am at the Beast of the East tournament against Clarkston.

Eagles Win: 3 - 1
Eagle volleyball conquered a tough match up against the Red Arrows of Lowell High School beating them 3-1. The Eagles started the match with a first game loss but battled hard winning the next 3 sets. The Red Arrows challenged GRC on defense but the Eagles rose to the challenge and Pushed back with an aggressive offense and smart play. Rowan Cebulski led the team in kills followed by Hanna Bredeweg, with a hitting percentage of .435. The Eagles had strong blocking and forced a lot of errors by the Red Arrows. The Eagles were led in blocks by Makenzie Ritsema and Hanna Bredeweg. The Eagles take on another tough match up against the Forest Hills Central Thursday October 6 at 6:00pm.

Eagles Win: 3 - 0
Eagle volleyball took home the win against the Yellow Jackets of Greenville High School 3-0. They started out strong and didn't falter winning 25-8, 25-13 and 25-13. Rowan Celbuski led the Eagles in kills with 12, followed by Hanna Bredeweg. Keira Porte had an astounding varsity debut with 4 kills and a hitting percentage of .750. Madison Peal led the team with 14 digs followed by Hanna Bredeweg and Gabrielle Richardson with 12. The Eagles play their next Match Tuesday October 4 at 6:00pm.

Eagle volleyball went 1-2 at the Rockford Quad this weekend. They started off the morning strong beating Dewitt 2-0. They later fell to Forest Hills Northern in a tough match where the eagles fought hard with strong blocking at the net and aggressive fast paced play. The Eagles ended their day with a hard fought 3 set match losing in the third set 11-15. Makenzie Ritsema and Savannah Bol led the defense this weekend with relentless blocking at the net. Grace Spoelma played aggressively all three matches and led the team in assists. Rowan Cebulski led in kills followed by Kidist Nelson and Hanna Bredeweg. The Eagles play their next match at Greenville High School at 6:00pm on 09/27.

Eagles Win: 3 - 2
The Eagles took home the win against rival East Grand Rapids 3-2. The Eagles came out strong winning the first two sets. They fell the next two sets but came back to win the fifth 15-3. The Eagles were led in kills by Rowan Cebulski with 16 kills and Makenzie Ritsema with 10 kills an incredible hitting percentage of .467. Gabrielle Richardson led the team in aces with 5. She went on multiple serving runs keeping EGR out of system and putting the team in a good place to score. The team worked hard on defense and were led in digs by Grace Spoelma and Madison Peal. The Eagles play their next match on 09/24 at 9:00am at Rockford High School, they play Dewitt, Forest Hills Northern, and Rockford.

Eagles Win: 3 - 0
Tonight the Eagles took on the Wildcats of Northview High School. The Eagles went into their second conference match with determination and beat the wildcats 3-0. Rowan Cebulski, Kidist Nelson and Makenzie Ritsema led the charge at the net with a team hitting percentage of .270. Hanna Bredeweg and Makenzie Ritsema led the team in blocks with an astounding 6 blocks, averaging 2 blocks a game. A team goal was met this evening and the Eagles had a passing average of 2.2, a season high. The Eagles play their next match against East Grand Rapids at home at 6:00pm.

Eagles Lose: 0 - 3
The Eagles had a tough match up against the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern. They fell the first set 17-25 but showed grit and perseverance and battled back from a large deficit after a long serving run from Gabrielle Richardson. They continued to fight and came close in match two with score of 25-27 losing in overtime. The Eagles were led in hitting percentage by Makenzie Ritsema and Rowan Cebulski. Madison Peal took on a tough offense and responded with 16 digs. The Eagles play their next match at Northview High School Tuesday September 20 at 6:00pm.

The Eagles fought hard this weekend going 2-2 at the EK invitational with close losses in three sets to Holland Christian with scores of 26-28, 25-15, and 15-17 and Lakewood with scores of 25-23, 18-25, and 9-15. The Eagles swept past Wayland and Catholic Central 2-0 with aggressive serving and big blocks on defense. There were a total of 40 aces for the weekend with Grace Spoelma leading the charge with 16. The Eagles had an incredible 21 blocks; Makenzie Ritsema led with 9. Eagles volleyball continues to fight through tough competition and will be facing the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern for their first conference match on Thursday 9/15 at 6:00pm.

Eagles Win: 3 - 0
Eagles volleyball controlled the court during all three sets against the Falcons of Forest Hills Eastern winning 25-8, 25-12, and 25-7. The team had an overall hitting percentage of .386 led by Rowan Cebulski with 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .571. Makenzie Ritsema also led the charge with 6 kills and a hitting percentage of .750. Kidist Nelson led the team in blocks followed by Savannah Bol and Makenzie Ritsema. Gabby Richardson had 4 of the 9 aces for the eagles and went on 6 point serving run. The Eagles take the court again this weekend at East Kentwood High School.

Eagles Win: 3 - 2
Women’s Varsity volleyball took home the win against the Broncos of Coopersville High School. The Eagles won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-19. They went on to drop the next two sets 20-25 and 18-25. The Eagles battled back and won the fifth game 15-8. They were led in kills by Rowan Cebulski with 21 kills and a hitting percentage of .277. There were 10 aces in total for the match and the Eagles were led by Lucy VanDrunen with 4 aces. Hanna Bredeweg led the team in blocks with 4 blocks followed by Makenzie Ritsema. The Eagles played with Grit and worked hard on defense. Madison Peal led the team with 23 digs followed by Rowan Cebulski with 20 digs.

Saturday the Eagles went 2-2 at the Rockford Invitational with a wins against Allendale high school and Mattawan High School. The Eagles fought hard but fell to both Lowell and Rockford in 3 close sets. The Eagles were led in kills by Rowan Cebulski. The block leader for the Eagles was Hanna Bredeweg with an average of two blocks per game. Ella Boorsma had several long serving runs and led the team in aces. The next match for the Eagles will be played at home on Tuesday August 30th against Coopersville High School at 6:00pm.

Eagles Varsity Volleyball went 3-1 this weekend at the Portage Central Invitational. Starting off the tournament the Eagles battled hard against the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern and ended up with an 0-2 loss after a very close match. The Eagles went on the take on Niles two separate times winning all their games and another win against Ottawa Hills High School.
