Eagles Lose: 0 - 2
The Grand Rapids Christian Freshman Eagles ended their season with a loss from Byron Center. Fighting hard in both sets, the Eagles showcased the growth they made throughout this season. Byron Center led a strong and fast offense, but the Eagles never let them get more than a few points ahead. The Eagles showed grit, hustle, and determination as they fought to the end against Byron Center. The middle back defender was crucial in leading the Eagles defense, as many of the attacks coming over were going right to them. Discipline and control were key components in the Eagles performance and helped them play a competitive match all the way to the end.

Eagles Win: 2 - 1
The Freshman Grand Rapids Christian Eagles defeated the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern in an exciting three set match. After winning the first set, the Eagles dropped the second set. An aggressive mindset allowed the Eagles to carry the momentum from the first two sets into the third and start out with a very early lead. They continued to play a clean and effective game throughout the third set to finish the match with a win. Offensive highlights were seen from Jaslene McWilliams on the outside, who also had a strong defensive effort in the back row. Emily VandenBerge, Nenfot Darshak, and Anna Jacobsen led the team in serve receive allowing the setters and hitters to run the offense well. The Eagles get ready for their final match against Byron Center on Thursday.

Eagles Lose: 1 - 2
The Eagles lost their match to Northview High School on Tuesday night in three sets. Strong serving and effort helped the Eagles to pull ahead throughout the match and win the second set. The Eagles were adaptable when challenged with trying new line ups and adjusted well to the pace of the game. Highlights of the game came from setter Lauryn DeBoer who ran the offense effectively and DS/Libero Anna Jacobsen who was aggressive in the back row and helped the team with somem offensive plays in the second and third set.

Grand Rapids Christian Freshman Volleyball finished up their traditional season with a tournament at Rockford High School this weekend. The Eagles fell to Rockford in two sets, but came back and beat East Grand Rapids to finish second in their pool. Moving into the silver bracket, the Eagles fell to Jenison in a tough match and were able to come out with a win against Grand Haven to end the day. The team was able to use some skills from practice this past week to have a more effective offense and dynamic defense throughout the day. The Eagles will move on to post season competition this week as they battle Northview on Tuesday.

Eagles Lose: 0 - 2
The Grand Rapids Christian Freshman Eagles fell to Byron Center on Thursday night. The team did well adjusting to the fast paced game and quick sets that Byron Center was showing, but ultimately fell in 2 sets. Some highlights of the game were the defensive effort seen by everyone and the perseverance through long points and a tough battle. The Eagles were able to have some effective kills to deep corners and kept the long points alive by great touches and relentless defensive plays.

Eagles Lose: 1 - 2
The Grand Rapids Christian Freshman Eagles fell in three sets to the Rangers of Forest Hills Central. The Eagles showed a solid defense and serve receive which helped the Eagles to win the first set and take the lead several times throughout the match. Libero Emily VandenBerge and middle blocker Addie Jung led the team with their court awareness and aggression helping to clean up and win several long rally points. The Eagles showed their grit throughout this match with the way they fought for each point and didn't stop being aggressive offensively. The team will look forward to the next few weeks to continue improving as we wrap up this fall season.

The freshman volleyball team faced some tough competition this week at the Grand Haven High School Invitational. The Eagles placed first in their pool after defeating Zeeland East and Dewitt and splitting sets with Unity Christian. Entering the gold bracket, the Eagles were up against West Catholic and fell in 2 sets. The team was able to show some strength offensively as setters Lauryn DeBoer and Olivia Christians diversified their sets and were able to engage all hitters in the front row and utilize the back row attack throughout the day. The Eagles will play Lowell and Forest Hills Central this week and look forward to another week of competition.

Eagles Win: 2 - 0
The Freshman Grand Rapids Christian Eagles defeated the Yellow Jackets of Greenville High School on Tuesday night, winning the match in 2 sets. The Eagles led almost the whole match and were able to establish their level of play early in the first set. Anna Jacobsen led the team with a large serving run in the first set and both setters, Olivia Christians and Lauryn DeBoer, did a great job of running the offense and diversifying the sets to their hitters. Overall, the Eagles gave a great performance and showed great teamwork to achieve the win.

The freshman Grand Rapids Christian volleyball team went 3-1 at their tournament at Covenant Christian High School this weekend. They were able to defeat Potters House, South Haven, and Covenant Christian in pool play before falling to Wayland in the semi finals of bracket play. Jaslene McWilliams set the tone in the first match against Potters House with going on an impressive serving run in the first set to help the Eagles get a large lead. Shiloh Moore lead the team from the middle with her aggressive offense and tall block allowing the defense to operate well around her. The team as a whole worked really well together and was able to make some adjustments between each match to continue increasing their level of play. The Eagles look forward to this week and playing Greenville High School followed by another tournament at Grand Haven High School this weekend.

Eagles Win: 2 - 1
The Grand Rapids Christian Freshman Volleyball Team earned a three set victory over East Grand Rapids. In a back and forth match the Eagles were able to capitalize when necessary and control their game in order to win the match. Defensive specialist Anna Jacobsen lead the team with a serving run in the first set that was able to establish the tone for the game. Aggressive serving all match was what allowed the eagles to fight back after losing the second set. Offensively, the Eagles showed a new level of effort and mental toughness that resulted in a strong finish to win the match.

The Eagles faced a talented Northview team today and showed their grit and effort in new ways. Finding themselves down in both sets, the Eagles were able to fight their way back into the game to bring each set to a close finish. Losing the match 0-2, the Eagles made some adjustments and took note of things to focus on moving forward. The Eagles will continue to work on technique and strategy to get ready for the remaining matches this week and are looking forward to getting back out on the court.

Freshman volleyball went 2-2 this weekend playing very competitive matches at the MSA Freshman Challenge. The Eagles fought their way into the gold bracket beating West Catholic and Holland High School, both in two sets. They later fell to Caledonia in three sets and Byron Center in Two. The Eagles play their next match 09/20 at Northview High School at 5:00pm.

The Eagles fought hard against the Huskies of Forest Hills Northern but were unable to come out with a win. The match was full of tough serves and strong serve receive allowing the offense to be the defining piece of the match. The Eagles lost in 2 sets, but will learn from this match and continue to grow and move forward.

Grand Rapids Christian Freshman Volleyball had an exciting two set match last night against Forest Hills Eastern. The Eagles were able to come out strong in the first set and kept the lead the whole time to win the set. In the second set Forest Hills Eastern fought back, but the Eagles were able to push ahead with strong serving and serve receive to win the match!

GR Christian Freshman Volleyball had a couple of hard fought battles tonight. They Lost in 2 sets to Hudsonville, beat FHC in 3 set, and fell to Unity Christian in 3 sets to end the night. The team was able to keep their aggressive serving going from the night before which helped them get a couple great leads throughout the night. The team continues to learn the importance of energy and communication and hopes to carry their strengths into next week's competitions!   Score Report:  vs. Hudsonville: 0-2 vs. FHC: 2-1 vs. Unity Christian 1-2

Eagles Win: 2 - 1
The freshman volleyball team won a hard fought battle in 3 sets tonight. The first set they came out strong and were aggressive with serving, which helped get an early lead. The Eagles lost in the second set after fighting their way back into the game from a large deficit. In the third set, their energy was evident as they worked as a team to win 15-12 and won the match!
