GRAND RAPIDS CATHOLIC CENTRAL: 59
The Eagles suffered their first loss of the season on the road against a very good Catholic Central team. Coming off a big conference win Friday night, the Eagles came out a little flat to start the game. To follow that the Eagles suffered a big blow when their star player Kobe Bufkin made a spectacular block but took a terrible fall. Kobe left the game and wouldn't return. This definitely affected the way the Eagles would execute offensively and defensively. At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles were down 8-22. The Eagles continued to compete and made plays to go in at the half down 19-31. The Eagles just couldn't find their rhythm in the third quarter scoring only six points. The Eagles would score 19 points in the fourth quarter but came up short losing 44-59 for the final score. The Eagles will have to regroup and make some personnel adjustments to get ready for Tuesday's game against Forest Hills Northern.
Senior Donovan Brown-Boyd was in double figures with 10 points 6 rebounds while senior Marcellus VanderKodde chipped in with 8 points and 4 rebounds.
