Varsity Boys Lacrosse

The Eagles sailed north on Saturday to Mona Shores to take on the co-op team of Mona Shores, Muskegon Catholic Central, West Michigan Christian, & Fruitport. They ran into a heavy storm, both in the way of the weather and their opponent. The day was cold with 20 plus MPH winds, and snow covered their grass field creating slippery footing and miserable conditions. Back pack blowers made the field lines somewhat visible, and the game got underway. An unfortunate injury to the Eagle's leading scorer Jake Eaton on the first faceoff, and took significant wind out of the Eagles’ sails. The boys could never get their sea legs and struggled to penetrate Mona's hot-on-hands defensive play. The white whale from last season — turnovers — haunted the Eagles throughout the game with the snow and poor field conditions making it worse. Sophomore Attackman Luke Afman managed to find the back of the net late in the game off a feed to crease from West Catholic Junior Middie Colin Wildman. Sophomore Middie Blake Grieve was tough in the snow picking up 6 Ground Balls.
