The Eagles get their first win of the season against the Sailors of South Christian. What a great atmosphere at South Christian to start the season. Tonight was two tough teams battling out on the hardwood the 1st quarter. The nerves were high in the 1st quarter both trying to find a rhythm but the Eagles finished the quarter 12-10. It was a defensive struggle in the 1st half with the Sailors taking 21-19 led into the locker room.
In the second half, the Eagles made some adjustments which gave the Sailors some problems offensively. The Eagles defense was very stifling in the 3rd quarter holding the Sailors to single digits. The start the 4th quarter the Eagles created offense off their tough defense to get the win 58-47 over the Sailors.
It was a great team win tonight. Senior Dono Thames stepped up big leading the Eagles with 32 points. Junior Malachi Hooser chipped in with 12 points. The Eagles will host Hudsonville Eagles next Tuesday at home.
