What a great crowd at Cornerstone University tonight to see the Eagles vs the Cougars of Catholic Central. The Eagles lost to Cougars in the regionals last season so the revenge was sweet tonight. It was a tough defensive battle in the 1st quarter.  The Eagles continued to fight taking a three point lead into halftime.   

In the second half, the Eagles made some adjustments to play with a focus to get the ball inside.  The Eagles defense created some early offense to set the tone in the 3rd quarter.  The decision to play with two bigs Jaylan Ouwinga and Tyler Porte created a lot of issues for the Cougars in the 4th quarter. The Eagles were able to make their free throws down the stretch to help close the game out. The Eagles of Grand Rapids Christian get the upset over the Cougars 58 - 50 to move to a 3-0 on the season.

It was a great team win with Senior Dono Thames leading the way with 17 points.  Junior Jaylan Ouwinga finished with 14 points and a big boost from senior Tyler Porte with 9 points.  The Eagles will be on the road December 29th vs Hamtramck at Ferndale High School.
